KEN is one of the first private meat-processing companies in Bulgaria, established in 1991 in Stara Zagora. KEN quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of fresh, cured and cooked smoked sausages in Bulgaria, as the wide product range of the company includes various sausages, smoked salami, hams, pates and scalded meats, as well as the much beloved frankfurter – KEN. In 2014 KEN created the Lord of the Frankfurters – the Lukanka-type frankfurter, which quickly became the delicious favourite on every table.

In order to achieve and maintain the superior quality and unique taste of its products, KEN constantly invests in new technologies and production facilities. KEN AD’s new factory opened in the Autumn of 2009 in Stara Zagora. Its total area is 9 500 sq.m. and it incorporates high-performance installations, provided by global leaders in this industry, as well as modern thermal tunnel-type chambers for the basic thermal meat processing.
The KEN brand includes some of the most popular meat products, as KEN Classic Frankfurter is the best liked frankfurter with the highest sales in Bulgaria.
In order to achieve the unsurpassed and well-liked taste of all KEN-branded products, the Company relies on uncompromising quality in each and every production stage. This is guaranteed by the use of cutting-edge technologies and equipment, supplied by leading global manufacturers.
The KEN products are made of selected raw materials from certified European and Bulgarian suppliers. In order to ensure the superior taste and flavour qualities and the safety of its products, KEN focuses particularly on the transportation and storage of the raw materials, carrying out ongoing supervision, monitoring and recording of the processes.
The company has implemented an ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System, ensuring the safety of the KEN products.
In order to trace the route of the finished products at any single moment, the production processes are automatically recorded and can be further analysed, if necessary, by specialists in the area of safe food production.
KEN pays special attention to the packaging of its products. Apart from being attractive to the buyers, each package corresponds to the characteristics of the respective product, for which it was designed. Whether inedible or made of natural products, the KEN products packaging protect them and preserve their taste and flavour in the best possible way.
All KEN products are GMO-free.
In order to ensure permanent control and the superior quality of our products, we have established and fully equipped our own laboratory, where three veterinarians test and analyse all the incoming basic raw materials and the finished products, and the specialized “Food Safety” Department carries out ongoing control and supervision of the production process.
KEN AD meets all the requirements for trading within the European Community and for export to other countries and is registered in accordance with the requirements of the Food Act.
